The refund system is terrible and arbitrary depending on who you get for customer support. Their customer service is garbage, quality control is flaming garbage, and DRM locking 90% of the games to services which can gut the games entirely (like Windows Live) makes some of your library purchases worthless later if anything happens to the respective service. I understand not wanting to buy stuff on their platform ever, if at all possible. Steam's a glorified dumpster fire which people support because it's essentially too big to fail and they have decent sales on the regular.
